Our Motivation

This November, my sister Siobhán and I are taking on the challenge of running 389km together in loving memory of our cousin Luke.

We chose 389km because 389 men lost their lives to suicide in Ireland in 2022, the same year we lost Luke. Every kilometre represents a life, a family, and people who are loved and missed more than words can say.

This challenge is deeply personal to us. We’re doing it for Luke, to honour his memory and to turn something so heartbreaking into something that can hopefully make a difference. We want to raise awareness for men's mental health, encourage people to speak openly about how they're feeling, and remind anyone who might be struggling that they don't have to face things alone.

Running 389km won't bring Luke back, but we hope that by sharing his story and raising awareness, we can help make a difference in someone else's life.

Every kilometre is for Luke. For the 389. For the people who are struggling, for the families who are grieving, and for a future where more people feel able to reach out and ask for help.
For Luke. For the 389. For Movember.
