After a hugely successful campaign in 2024, Mercury is once again stepping up to the plate (and the shaving mirror) for Movember 2025; proving they're committed to raising awareness and funds for men’s health year on year.
Mercury Ireland, a company in construction solutions, is a workplace Movember team participating in the Movember Business Club Ireland Challenge and the Mo Construction Challenge.
Last year, Team Mercury raised over €100,000 and took home a hat-trick of major Mo Awards, including; Top Overall Team, Construction Challenge Winner, and Movember Business Club Champion. What legends. But beyond the trophies and the fantastic photos, what really mattered was the awareness sparked across sites and offices about the importance of men’s mental and physical health.
Movember hits close to home for Mercury and the wider construction industry; one that’s still predominantly male and one where mental health struggles, delayed health checks and preventable illnesses continue to take too many lives.
With men 3 to 4 times more likely to die by suicide and construction workers facing one of the highest rates of suicide rates among industries, it’s time to change the conversation.
This exemplary company are creating space for open conversations, early intervention and the simple act of checking in. Because sometimes, a chat can save a life.
Louis Kroucamp, Head of EHS at Mercury, shares;
“Movember 2024 was a milestone moment for Mercury. The level of engagement, generosity, and teamwork shown across the business was nothing short of incredible. But what mattered most was the awareness we raised, especially around mental health in the construction industry. This year, we’re continuing to build that momentum. Through our wellbeing programmes and ongoing health campaigns, we’re committed to creating a workplace where every individual feels supported - both mentally and physically.”
This campaign aligns with Mercury’s broader commitment to total wellbeing, reflected in the company’s core value of WorkSafe, HomeSafe. Wellbeing at Mercury goes beyond mental health support. It includes a strong focus on physical health, safety, and long-term resilience.
The company actively promotes healthy lifestyle habits across its workforce through a range of initiatives. Including - fitness challenges, site-based wellbeing events, and awareness campaigns around topics such as cancer prevention, cardiovascular health and early detection. These efforts are designed to encourage everyone across the business to take ownership of their health and to support one another in doing the same.
Over the past four years, Mercury has invested over €260,000 into health and wellbeing programmes for its people and the communities. That’s because to them, wellbeing isn’t a one month initiative. It’s a long-term commitment.
In the past year, Mercury strengthened its internal support systems even further with the launch of a new Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) giving every employee access to confidential counselling and expert guidance on mental, physical, and financial health. Their growing network of Mental Health First Aiders continues to make a difference, ensuring help is always close at hand – whether you’re in the office or on-site.
For Movember 2025, Mercury is set to go even bigger. Expect more moustaches, more movement and more meaningful conversations. Because at Mercury, Movember isn’t just a campaign – it’s part of who they are.
It's never too late to support men's health. This Movember, let’s take action. Unite to change the future of men’s health.
