MOVEMBER IRELAND’S DONOR CHARTER

Hey there!

We’re Movember, a registered charity (Registration No.20105280) registered in Ireland. Our mission is to change the face of men’s health all over the world.

We are committed to complying with the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public issued by the Charities Regulator in Ireland (the Guidelines) and the Charities Act 2009.

Your donations matter, and it’s so important that we maintain the highest possible standards when it comes to receiving donations from our awesome community.

This Donor Charter tells you all you need to know about how we adhere to key principles when receiving your donation.

Respect

  • Our fundraising will respect the rights and dignity of donors, beneficiaries and the public.
  • Our fundraising activities will not be unreasonably persistent, intrusive or place undue pressure on people to donate. Should someone not wish to donate, or wish to cease making a donation, that decision will be respected.
  • Movember’s beneficiaries will not be presented in a disrespectful way in promotional activities and, where possible and appropriate, clients and beneficiaries will have an input into the promotional strategies of Movember.
  • We will always respect your right to privacy and confidentiality and apply the strictest levels of care when it comes to your data. To find out more, read our Global Privacy Policy here.

Honesty and Integrity

  • Our fundraising will always occur in an honest and truthful manner.
  • Our awesome Mo staff will act with integrity and not misrepresent Movember, our need for funds or how those funds will be applied.
  • Questions about our fundraising activities and fundraising costs will be answered honestly and in a timely manner.
  • Information about Movember’s charitable purpose and activities will be made freely available. You can access our Global Annual Reports here.
  • Charitable donations and gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were donated.

Transparency and Accountability

  • We will take responsibility for our actions and will be capable of explaining, clarifying and justifying those actions.
  • Our trustees and management will explain and account to donors and the public for our actions.
  • We will operate in an open, frank and honest way and will ensure that transactions, operations, information and communications are easily understood by donors and the public alike.
  • We will clearly identify to donors and the public the cause for which fundraising is occurring and how donations will and are being used.
  • We will provide ways whereby those interested can easily contact us. We will have a procedure in place to address complaints (more on that below).
