On 27 May 2026, Movember paid a visit to the Oireachtas to show TDs and Senators what really works in men’s health right here in Ireland.
In the Oireachtas AV Room we screened our short film on 'The Real Face of Men’s Health', showcasing what can be achieved when those doing great work across the country get the support they need to make real improvements in the lives of men, boys, their families, and their communities.
In Ireland, we have long recognised that men’s health needs action. In 2009, we were the first country in the world to publish a national men's health policy. That was a landmark moment and since then, successive men's health action plans have built on that foundation.
But we know that for policy to translate into impact, we need sustained resourcing and political backing.
The organisations and initiatives already doing incredible work across this country often do it all on a shoestring; reaching men in their communities, in their workplaces, in moments of real vulnerability. And we know the Real Face of Men’s Health isn’t just individual men, but also the people who care for men and are impacted when men aren't supported.
They are proof that targeted, evidence-based action works. They just need the backing to do more of it, and to keep doing it.

When you grow, donate, fundraise, or champion Movember, this is part of where it goes.
We fund groundbreaking research and programmes. But we also work with our stakeholders to be in the room where decisions get made and to platform the people doing the work. Making the case to those with the power to fund, sustain, and scale it.
Men's health policy and advocacy is a core part of how we create lasting change. Because the best community programmes, the most effective mental health supports, the initiatives changing and saving lives across Ireland, all need an environment where men's health is taken seriously at every level.
Behind every statistic is a man. A father, a son, a friend, a colleague. Men who are more likely to die by suicide, less likely to seek help, and be underserved by systems not designed with them in mind.
The families, communities, and workplaces around those men feel every gap in support. And they benefit from every breakthrough.
This is about men. But it's for all of us.
We're calling on the Irish Government, and we're calling on you.
Together, we back the Real Face of Men’s Health across Ireland.
Together, we build a future where men's health gets the attention, and the action, it deserves.
