My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Prostate cancer
Testicular cancer
Mental health and suicide prevention

This Movember is particularly important to us. Earlier this year, we lost our Dad, Nick, due to complications from diabetes, heart disease and prostate cancer at only 66 years of age.

Movember was set up to "change the face" of men's health and aims to tackle the alarming increase in suicide amongst young men, early cancer detection, diagnosis and effective treatments, ultimately reducing the number of preventable deaths. Besides annual check-ups, the Movember Foundation encourages men to be aware of family history of cancer and to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

As Dad donned a Mo' for 20+ years of his life, it is only fitting that this November, we are going to grow one too to raise awareness. In addition to this, Dad was a keen long distance runner, competing in the 5,000m at national and international meets as a schoolboy.

Stephen is going to raise further awareness by running 120km throughout the course of the month in his honour and to all men struggling with physical and mental health difficulties (tracked below through Strava!)

We are also going to make a €500 contribution to the Irish Heart Foundation and Diabetes Ireland charities.

We would appreciate any donation, big or small and would encourage anyone else to get involved and join this worthy cause! Running partners would be very welcome!
