My motivation

Prostate cancer
Testicular cancer

Movember is deeply personal to me. On 14 September 2026, I marked the first anniversary of losing one of my closest friends, Tommy, to cancer. He fought with the courage and strength of a lion for more than three years, but the disease ultimately took him from us. His passing left an irreplaceable void and remains a painful reminder of how cancer can strike at the heart of the people we love. Rest in peace, Tommy.

I also lost my dad to lung cancer. Like many men, he believed he was invincible and hoped the illness would simply go away. Sadly, it did not. I miss him every day, and his experience reinforces an important message: men must not ignore symptoms, delay appointments or assume that everything will be fine. My wife’s own journey with cancer, and her being in remission, has shown me again how relentless this disease can be for individuals and for everyone who loves them.

That is why Movember matters so much. It encourages men to speak openly, take their health seriously and get checked regularly. Early action can make a vital difference. Please do not wait for a warning that comes too late—book the appointment, attend your check-up and encourage the men in your life to do the same.

In memory of my Dad and my best friend, Tommy, I am asking for your support. Any contribution, however large or small, will help this great cause continue its work for men’s health, raise awareness and encourage more men to act before it is too late. Please donate if you can, share the message and remind someone you care about to get checked. Together, we can help save lives.
