So much good stuff happened this year – too much to mention it all here. In no particular order, here are some of the best bits. Thanks to all who got involved with Movember this year. It’s been epic.
999 Mo! - Open Day at Phibsborough Fire Station
We had a great day at the station. Blown away by the effort put in by The Dublin Fire Brigade Mo Bros, also the Coast Guard, the Blood Bike East crew, some Irish Rail Bro’s, and some Garda Bro’s. Lots of other volunteers (including Ewoks and Storm Troopers!) helped to make it a really special family day out. Sam and his crew from Sam’s Barbers did the shavedowns on the day – can’t thank them enough for their tireless efforts throughout the campaign again this year – above and beyond.
For more great pics from the day, please see this gallery, kindly donated by top photographer and long-time Mo Bro, Paddy Price
Raising Men's Health with the Farming Community
To re-use the phrase: "Farmers take better care of their livestock and machinery than they do of themselves".
We partnered with the Farmers Journal, ICOS, and Full Health Medical to try to change this - and delivered men's health checks at six livestock marts around the country in October and November. These were a great success, and we look forward to building on this year's efforts in the farming community again next year.

Great New Team of Mo Bro's - Irish Rail
This new partnership looks like one that's really on the right track...Irish Rail really pulled out all the stops. They plastered their stations with Movember posters, did a huge amount of on board advertising and organised shavedowns from Sam's Barbers on the platform at rush hour one morning. They even decked out more than 30 of their trains with very fetching Mo's for the month. Special mention to Derek McCullagh and Stephen Hackett for making their first year as a Mo Team a real success. Looking forward to working with the lads again next year.
Steady as She Mo's!
Another great first-time partnership was with the lads on the LÉ James Joyce, one of the newest ships in the Irish Navy. The lads were really sound and gave us an access all areas tour of the ship when they were berthed in Dublin recently. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to fire the gun. We're hoping that lots more teams from the Navy and other defence forces will be signing up next year.
DCU's Students - Beg Borrow Steal
Our hearts really went out to the teams from the DCU's Berlin Breakout - on the night before their dash to Berlin from Dublin (they had to get there without spending a cent - political unrest in France and Germany forced them to postpone the madcap adventure at the very last minute). It was such a let-down for the guys: they were fully hyped for it (it trended on Twitter) but they made the only right decision in not going. Incidentally, they raised an incredible amount for us in the lead up - over €47, 000! We're confident that when they do get to go sometime early next year, the event will be an incredible experience for them.
Microsoft Ireland's Mo Team - Getting Their Fundraising Just Right
Lots of teams could be highlighted here, but we're hero-ing the Mo Team at Microsoft Ireland because of their innovative approach to fundraising. They approached the management team at Microsoft and proposed that the company could match a percentage of funds raised. Microsoft kindly agreed, and the team were able to make a really strong donation. If you'd be interested in trying to do the same thing at your place of work next year, find out how here.
Mo-Mobile - Thanks to Volkswagon Ireland
Each year, we need to visit a lot of places around the country for a variety of events ( e.g.Sligo for the Surf Summit, Stradbally for the Ploughing Championships to name but two trips), and we often need to bring a lot of stuff with us. This year, VW Ireland really stepped up to the plate by lending us a brand new van for the month of Movember to help us spread the impact of the moustache nationally. Very kind of them.
