I’m taking on this challenge to raise money and awareness for men’s health and, in particular, men’s mental health. It’s a cause that I think deserves much more attention, as men can often feel like they have to deal with their problems alone or keep their feelings to themselves.
The haircut is the part of the challenge that makes it personal for me. Last year, one of my mates, Adam Roche, took on a similar challenge for Movember and raised over €1,500. Seeing the amount of money he was able to raise inspired me to do something of my own this year and try to build on what he started.
So, at the end of November, I’ll be shaving my head as my way of committing to the challenge and showing that I’m willing to do something uncomfortable to support an important cause.
My goal is to raise as much as I can throughout November. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will go towards supporting men’s health and helping make a difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much and would really help me reach my goal.
