Groundbreaking genetics research in Canada, funded by the Movember Foundation, Ontario Institute of Cancer Research (OICR) and Prostate Cancer Canada have identified for the first time a unique sub-type of prostate cancer.

What does this mean exactly? The discovery will help clinicians develop more personalized treatments for their patients, ensure that fewer men undergo unnecessary treatments and improve their chances of survival.

The study has been published in one of the world’s leading medical genetics journals and is part of a larger initiative called the Canadian Prostate Cancer Genome Network (CPC-GENE) that has brought together a team of multidisciplinary researchers from across Canada to crack the genetic code of prostate cancer. Learn more about CPC-GENE project here. You can read the journal article here.

Thanks to you Mo Bros and Mo Sistas, we’re one step closer to living in a world without prostate cancer.
